Leicester City reportedly plan to sell former Newcastle United forward Ayoze Perez this summer.
The Daily Mail claim that Leicester will ‘listen to offers’ for the 28-year-old. They will also look to get rid of Caglar Soyuncu, Dennis Praet and Hamza Choudhury – the man who will forever be linked with the Magpies.
Perez’s Leicester dream has turned into a nightmare, with his minutes diminishing this season. While the Foxes have been successful during his time at the King Power, Perez has hardly been a key player.

No surprise Leicester want to sell Ayoze Perez
He’s played 12 times in the Premier League this season, including against Newcastle last month when Bruno Guimaraes netted a dramatic last minute winner.
The forward joined Leicester in 2019 after Brendan Rodgers’ side activated his £30million release clause. The deal came after his best ever season in the Premier League.
Perez has played in Europe, competed near the top of the league and won an FA Cup since the move. However, his time there could be coming to an end. He’s proven to be a bit of an expensive flop in the East Midlands.

Perez wanted to come back to Newcastle in January
It will be interesting to see where Perez goes next. He was an immensely talented player for Newcastle, but often frustrated supporters.
One thing is for sure – he certainly won’t go for £30million like he did three years ago.
When Perez left Newcastle, we were in a terrible position. A takeover had collapsed, Rafa Benitez departed, and two thirds of our exciting front three exited the club.
Fast forward to 2022 and everything has changed. Newcastle have ambitious owners and an exciting manager and are looking up rather than down.

Given all that’s gone on, it’s no surprise Perez reportedly wanted a Toon comeback in January. The Chronicle recently reported that he was open to a move back to Newcastle.
For me, Perez would have been a welcome addition in January. We ended the window light in attack, with moves for Jesse Lingard and Hugo Ekitike collapsing late in the day.
But a summer return for the 2014 signing would perhaps be underwhelming. We’ve been linked with some exciting players such as Moussa Diaby. If we were to sign Perez instead, questions would be asked.
He was excellent when he was at Newcastle, especially given the fact he only cost £1.5million. Perez was an absolute bargain, but we can do better now.
