According to the Daily Star’s Aaron Stokes (via The Chronicle – 19:49), DeAndre Yedlin will assess his future in January after failing to secure a move away from Newcastle on deadline day.
The USA international was among a list of players Steve Bruce wanted to ship off in the transfer window, along with the likes of Henri Saivet, Rolando Aarons and Achraf Lazaar as the Northern Echo stated.

However, the Magpies couldn’t shift the former Seattle Sounders full-back, who will now assess his future in three months when the January transfer window rolls around.
Yedlin – who Spotrac say earns £30k-a-week on Tyneside – will presumably find chances hard to come by under Bruce until then.
He has the likes of Javier Manquillo and Emil Krath competing for the right-back spot, and while he can also play at left-back, Jamal Lewis and Matt Ritchie can provide ample cover there.
It will have presumably infuriated Bruce that he couldn’t offload Yedlin.

A snippet from The Telegraph‘s live blog on deadline day (12:45pm) revealed that the likes of Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were not realistic options for Newcastle, given the impact our fringe players had on the wage bill.
Hopefully, for the sake of his career, Yedlin can find a new home in January and kick on.
