Remi Savage has sent a heartfelt goodbye to Liverpool ahead of his reported move to Newcastle United.
It was claimed last week that the Magpies are set to sign the young defender on a free transfer.
According to the Athletic, Newcastle will pay Liverpool £250,000 compensation due to the player’s age. Savage is only 19-years-old, and can play either as a centre-back or a left-back.
The youngster was offered a one-year extension at Anfield, but it seems as though he will be heading to the north east.
Savage has issued a statement on Instagram, thanking everyone at Liverpool Football Club for the role they have played in his career so far.
Savage wrote: “I would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone @liverpoolfc for an unforgettable 13 years at the club.
“It has been a pleasure to work with all the staff, coaches and players. They have helped me grow into the person I am not only on the pitch but off it too.
“I have made so many memories along the way and I wish everyone at the club the very best in their future!”
Multiple Liverpool players have responded to Savage, including Harvey Elliot and Curtis Jones.
The former replied: “All the best brother! Been a pleasure.”
Jones added: “Good luck my boy.”

Newcastle move must be close for Remi Savage
An announcement about the signing of Savage is surely imminent from Newcastle United.
The defender looks set to become the club’s first signing, in a summer which could be very tricky.
The Magpies are currently in limbo, with Mike Ashley hoping to sell the club to PCP Capital Partners.
Until there is some kind of takeover progress, it seems unlikely that we’ll see any first-team additions.

But Savage’s imminent arrival is certainly a welcome one. Considering Liverpool wanted to keep him, he clearly has some talent.
While he’s probably not the senior centre-back Steve Bruce wants, Savage will get the chance to impress with the Under-23s.
Savage will likely feature for the club in the Papa John’s Trophy, where Newcastle have been drawn against Sheffield Wednesday, Harrogate Town and Mansfield.
