It would be an understatement to say that Newcastle were robbed last night in their UEFA Champions League draw against PSG, and Bruno Guimaraes feels the pain.

The Brazilian international has been in superb form since returning from injury, with Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior lauding the midfielder after Saturday’s win against Chelsea with Eddie Howe also full of praise for Guimaraes.

The 26-year-old dynamo is on course to become a modern-day legend with Newcastle, and Guimaraes’ recent comments on social media have only elevated the midfielder’s reputation at St. James Park.

Sharing on his official Instagram story, the former Olympique Lyonnais went on a scathing rant about PSG’s late penalty, which was won in controversial circumstances via VAR.

Guimaraes said: “Sometimes in life you have to accept some decisions that you know are wrong and not being able to do anything makes me sick! Life is as it is.”

However, the midfielder followed that up with a great message to Newcastle fans, with Guimaraes stating that he loves playing for the Magpies despite what came their way last night.

All is not lost for Newcastle in the Champions League going into the final fixture of the group stage phase next month, with the Toon’s destiny still in their hands.

And with Guimaraes now fully fit and now all fired up, the former Ligue 1 star can be a key player in pushing Newcastle into the next round of the competition at St. James Park against AC Milan.

Indeed, a great injustice will be felt across the Newcastle squad this morning after last night’s brutal scenes in Paris, yet how the Magpies respond could define their season.

And for Guimaraes, the midfielder can step up and lead his squad into the history books with a massive performance in their Champions League closer, with the odds certainly in Newcastle’s favour.
