Brighton and Hove Albion have been credited with an interest in signing Newcastle United target Amine Adli this summer.
As reported by journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Brighton are planning to launch a bid to sign Amine Adli. However, Bayer Leverkusen are reluctant to let the player go, having already lost Moussa Diaby to Aston Villa this summer.
Roberto De Zerbi is a fan of the player. So too, it would seem, is Eddie Howe. According to The Guardian, Newcastle harbour their own hopes of securing the services of Adli, who is valued at at least £30 million by Bayer Leverkusen.
Whether Brighton or the Magpies are willing to meet the German club’s demands remains to be seen. Bayer Leverkusen, if they are to lose the player, would love to see a bidding war flare up between the two Premier League clubs, driving Adli’s price up even higher.

Newcastle unlikely to fight for Adli
It is easy to see why Adli is in such high demand. The 23-year-old winger enjoyed a fine campaign last time out. He registered seven goals and six assists in all competitions. He has hit the ground running this season, too. Adli featured for Bayer Leverkusen in their recent DFB-Pokal clash with Teutonia 05, scoring one goal himself and assisting two others.
The arrival of Harvey Barnes at St James’ Park may well have eliminated the need for Newcastle to sign Adli. In Barnes, Antony Gordon, Miguel Almiron, and Alexander Isak, Howe’s squad is already well-stocked with quality options who can operate in the wide areas.
However, the Tyneside club will be hoping that Brighton don’t get a deal of their own for Adli over the line. The attacker would undoubtedly strengthen the Seagulls, who will be aiming to compete directly with Newcastle for the European qualification spots in the Premier League this season.
