Newcastle United make changes for Saturday’s trip to Brentford.

Eddie Howe’s side really bounced back this week, as Newcastle drew 3-3 with Liverpool.

There were some big performances in black and white, and Newcastle arguably deserved to win.

It was a great response after a couple of poor displays, but it means nothing if Newcastle go back to their previous ways away to Brentford on Saturday.

Throughout this season, Howe has had problems in midfield. However, he finally got the balance right on Wednesday night.

Sandro Tonali was exceptional as the number six, but drops out and is replaced by Sean Longstaff.

Newcastle players still on the brink of suspension

However, two of those players are one booking away from suspension. Joelinton and Sandro Tonali are both on four yellow cards, while they are joined on that amount by Fabian Schar.

With three players one yellow card away from a one-game ban, Eddie Howe is well aware that a suspension could be looming.

But given how important that trio is, the Newcastle United should avoid temptation to take them out of the starting XI.

Harvey Barnes in for Anthony Gordon

Harvey Barnes starts in place of Anthony Gordon, with Jacob Murphy the other winger to flank Alexander Isak in a fairly surprising move.

Starting Newcastle XI to face Brentford: Pope; Livramento, Schar, Burn, Hall; Bruno, Longstaff, Joelinton; Murphy, Isak, Barnes

Subs: Dubravka, Trippier, Tonali, Wilson, Gordon, Targett, Osula, Almiron, Kelly
