Newcastle United are set for a big summer in the transfer market.

Qualification for the Champions League brings with it both extra revenue and added games, meaning it is of the utmost importance Newcastle strengthen this summer.

While Eddie Howe has warned against the idea that the club will suddenly have a “bottomless pit” to spend, the club have worked so many wonders in the transfer market so far, it’s not difficult to imagine more exciting signings being made.

Indeed, it seems as if PIF are now ready to pull out all the stops in their pursuit of more success this summer.

PIF ready to spend more than they’ve ever spent

According to The Daily Telegraph, the club’s owners are likely to invest more than they ever have done during a single transfer window this summer.

With Newcastle eager to challenge in the Premier League, Europe and the domestic cups next season, more depth needs to be added to give Howe the tools to do so.

Now, it looks likely some of the FFP shackles will be able to come off.

Newcastle’s transfer wish list

Earlier this month, The Athletic claimed the club had already decided the positions in which they most need to strengthen.

They claimed a left-back, right-sided central defender, two midfielders and two forwards are the signings Newcastle are planning to make this summer.

Though actually going out and signing those players is a different prospect entirely of course, that is seriously exciting.

With that kind of recruitment drive, the squad would be in a much healthier place and perhaps rotation would not seem as costly as Newcastle attack a number of competitions.

This summer, PIF look like they’re ready to go big.
