Newcastle United’s club-record signing Joelinton has started the last four Premier League games during the time Callum Wilson has been out injured.

But with the Magpies’ number nine nearing a return to first team action, it could mean that Joelinton finds himself back on the bench.

The 25-year-old hasn’t managed to score during Wilson’s absence but he has had some good performances and could have had some goals but unfortunately his finishing let him down.

The £40m signing (BBC Sport) has used the international break as an opportunity to get a new haircut.

Newcastle’s number seven has gone for the bleach blonde hair that England’s Phil Foden opted for ahead of the summer’s European Championships.

Hopefully the new haircut could prove to be the trigger that makes Joelinton the prolific goalscorer the fans hoped their beloved club were signing.

When Wilson was fit, Joelinton found himself on the periphery of the team and was only brought on as an impact substitute.

But with Steve Bruce’s team needing wins, there’s no reason why if Bruce reverted back to a 3-5-2 formation that Joelinton couldn’t partner Wilson upfront with Allan Saint-Maximin playing in-behind the forwards.
