One player who is on a lot of Newcastle supporter’s lips right now is Miguel Almiron.
Despite some impressive cameo appearances, Steve Bruce has not been including the £20 million attacker in his starting eleven too often this season.
Almiron has only been handed one Premier League start so far this term, which came in the 1-1 draw away to Tottenham, and Bruce was even asked about what’s going on between him and the Paraguayan in his pre-match press conference today.
After leaving him on the bench against Burnley, before handing him just two minutes against Manchester United, The Chronicle quote the Magpies boss as saying: ‘I know Almiron very well, he’s a top player, and I’m sure he’ll have a big part to play. He’s certainly in my thoughts for the weekend.’
Despite his lack of playing time, the 26-year-old was still all smiles in training, as Newcastle’s official Twitter account pictured him looking very emotive in the way we all want him to be.

In all honesty, Almiron deserves a run of starts.
He has impressed when called upon, amassing a respectable one goal and three assists so far this season despite a lack of starts.
Our tenacious No.24 carries us up the pitch, and offers a dimension that few players other than Allan Saint-Maximin give to this Newcastle side.
It’s good to see him looking happy in training, but Bruce should make him even happier by handing him a start against Wolves on Sunday.
