One Newcastle United player has now been ranked as the 25th most valuable in the world after impressing heavily in a black and white shirt.

Bruno Guimaraes has been the heartbeat of Newcastle’s midfield over the last two years and he is one of the best in the Premier League at what he does.

A new report published by CIES Football Observatory has valued Bruno at around £94m, £5m more than Declan Rice who is the second-most expensive English player of all time.

Bruno has been unbelievable for Newcastle

Since signing from Lyon for £40m back in January 2022, Bruno has been ‘outstanding‘ for Newcastle in their midfield and the team have really struggled to win games when he has been unavailable.

The Brazilian has also earned himself cult-hero status amongst the fans for the passion and determination he has shown in big games.

With the Tyne-Wear derby coming up in the FA Cup this weekend the midfielder will now have the chance to endear himself to the supporters even more than he already has.

There were a lot of people who had been impressed with what he had done over in France, but few expected him to be quite this good so quickly after joining the Premier League, and how he’s easily one of the best players in the country.

Newcastle may have to sell Bruno to progress

It’s not what any Newcastle fan will want to hear right now, but Bruno is one of the few sellable assets currently at the club and the poor financial situation puts them in a very tricky position.

So far in January the club are struggling to find deals they can afford, they’ve even turned down the chance to sign Kalvin Phillips on loan because they cannot afford the fee to bring him to Tyneside.

This has only supported the rumours that Newcastle may look to sell one of three players with Bruno alongside Alexander Isak and Sven Botman being viewed as the most sellable.

Any of the trio would bring in a huge amount of money and would allow Newcastle to reinvest heavily all across the pitch, but it’s so difficult to let one of your star players go.
