GiveMeSport have reported that Newcastle United will be looking to target some high-profile names this summer. The report states that the Magpies’ recent form will give increased hope of landing top players from some very big clubs. One huge name on that list is Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur.
The England international has recently rejuvenated his form after a slow start to the season. He’s netted five times in his last five matches with Tottenham. Some fans of both Spurs and England will be happy to see him seemingly returning to his best.
There’s no doubt that signing England’s top striker would be a huge coup for Newcastle. He’s been one of, if not the, deadliest strikers of the last decade in the Premier League.

It’s probably too early for the likes of Kane to sign for Newcastle this summer, but they have other options
The demand for a striker such as Kane will be incredibly high. Newcastle doesn’t have the attraction of European football, which will give them a disadvantage to other competing clubs.
If Kane were to leave Spurs, you’d think it would be to a team that guarantees Champions League football. However, there are plenty of other top strikers the Magpies could pursue this summer.
Another forward who was on that list of players from the same report was Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The Everton striker would likely depart if they were to be relegated this season.

Additionally, with the trajectory Newcastle is currently on it would be an attractive offer. After all, Kieran Trippier and Bruno Guimaraes made the move to Tyneside when they were still in the bottom three.
So with Premier League football hopefully guaranteed next season, the Magpies can flex their financial muscles in the summer.
Whilst Newcastle should definitely try with Harry Kane, I wouldn’t get my hopes up. But with a big future on the horizon, lots of forwards may want to take a chance on a move to Tyneside.
However, if PIF were to pull of this transfer coup, then the entire footballing world would be shocked.
