Former Newcastle United defender Olivier Bernard has stated the Magpies are heading in the wrong direction, after recording yet another defeat last night.
Steve Bruce’s players were beaten 3-0 at St. James’ Park in what was a woeful display.

The game was must-win for Newcastle, but there was no danger of that as Graham Potter’s side cruised to victory in the North East.
There was a huge difference in attitude between the two sets of players, and that is a major concern.
Bernard, like most fans, was stunned as he watched on, and wrote on Twitter after the full-time whistle: “It doesn’t look good now … we heading in the wrong direction! 0-3. “
In terms of a solution, the Frenchman did make one offering.
He added: “If you try Andy Carroll , he may give you another option as for now I don’t really know where the 3pts will come from? Bravo Brighton for still trying to play football.”
Remarkably, despite the glaringly obvious need for a goal, Carroll was an unused substitute last night, as was fellow striker Dwight Gayle.
The only solution needed right now
Carroll might have made a difference last night, but ultimately what needs to happen is Bruce gets the sack.

Things are so abject and hopeless under his rule that it simply doesn’t much matter who’s out there right now.
It’s clear the players are no longer playing for him, and it will take a miracle at this point to prevent Newcastle slipping into the relegation zone very soon.
