Newcastle United legend Nolberto Solano has spoken about the key advantage Newcastle have over Manchester United going in to Sunday’s key Premier League match.
Former Newcastle winger Nobby Solano has spoken to The Chronicle ahead of Sunday’s huge game with our Carabao Cup Final opponents, Manchester United and has claimed that the Magpies have one major thing in their favour going into the game.
Solano believes that Man United will be under more pressure going into the game as there’s more expectation for them to finish in the top four. He told The Chronicle: “I would say Man United – because of their history – are under more pressure than Newcastle. When it comes to who has to finish in the top four, Man United have the pressure.

“Newcastle came into this game on the back of two good results and they needed it to stay in the chase. But Newcastle can be more relaxed than Man United.
“If they win it’s another big three points. For me, Newcastle seem in the better position because of the games in hand.
“Man United and Newcastle both knew how important Wembley was but it’s gone. Man United obliged and won the cup that day.
“But Sunday sees us into the last period of the season and it’s down to points now. It is an important game for both teams and for me they are in different situations, one is under pressure, the other isn’t.”
The Peruvian who is adored by the Toon Army certainly seems confident that it’s not the end of the world if Newcastle don’t come away with three points on Sunday, and I am inclined to agree.
We owe them one after Wembley
While a defeat wouldn’t be a complete disaster, it certainly wouldn’t be ideal. A draw would certainly be acceptable, but for the sake of pride, revenge and just the satisfaction that comes with getting one over on Man United, a win would be beautiful.
If we can produce the same level of performance we did in the last two games before the international break then Erik ten Hag’s men could be in for a torrid time on Tyneside on Sunday afternoon.
Especially if our record signing Alexander Isak is in the same form he was before the break. The Swedish international was saw good in our last two games that he’s started to draw comparisons to Thierry Henry, and who am I to downplay those claims?
