Nick Woltemade’s goals for Newcastle United do not go unnoticed at Bayern Munich, it seems.

As a talented German player plying his trade for a Bundesliga club last summer, Woltemade had been widely expected to join the Bavarian giants.

Indeed, Bayern Munich wanted to sign Woltemade, although he eventually made the move to Newcastle United at club-record expense.

Who will finish on more goals in all competitions this season?

While his move to England was somewhat controversial in his homeland and attracted criticism from some senior figures at Bayern Munich, the Germany squad supported Woltemade’s move to Newcastle.

The 23-year-old is now a key player at international level and appears to be the man who will lead them into next summer’s World Cup campaign.

Woltemade has already scored six goals for Newcastle, and it seems he gets a text from Joshua Kimmich after every single one.

Joshua Kimmich texts Nick Woltemade whenever he scores for Newcastle United

Woltemade helped Germany qualify for the 2026 World Cup, scoring four goals in their final three games to help his country win their group.

The Newcastle United star scored in their 6-0 win over Slovakia earlier this week and later revealed that teammate Joshua Kimmich texts him at every goal at club level.

Nick Woltemade’s ridiculous penalty technique.

Kimmich is one of Europe’s most high-profile midfielders and captains his country, so it’s certainly interesting to imagine him keeping a close eye on all things Newcastle.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Woltemade said: “I get a message from him after every game when I score a goal in Newcastle; that’s an example and shows what a good captain and great person he is.”

How Nick Woltemade has forced German media into U-turn

Woltemade was hailed as Germany’s “saviour” following their win over Luxembourg over the international break.

While they would have been expected to beat the relative minnows, Germany did not cover themselves in glory and did need the Newcastle star to step forward to get them over the line.

Woltemade has previously been criticised by the German media but his goals have certainly helped change the narrative.

It’s also incredible to think that he’s not yet playing at his best. For all of his goals for Newcastle, the team still aren’t getting the very best out of him.
