Newcastle United face Chelsea this weekend, in what is likely to be one of the toughest games of the Magpies’ season.

Any game against Chelsea is going to be a tough one, but the fact that the Tyneside outfit head into this one without arguably their best player makes their task that much harder.

Indeed, the Magpies head into this one without top scorer Callum Wilson, while Miguel Almiron is also a doubt for this game after staying in Paraguay longer than anticipated, meaning that he may not be up to speed to play against Chelsea.

Steve Bruce has a number of tough decisions to make in this game, and we’ve had a go at predicting the Magpies’ starting XI for this game.

Newcastle’s XI vs Chelsea

We think Newcastle will make three changes for the Chelsea game.

Unsurprisingly, there are no changes at the back as Bruce goes for the same back five that has started each of the last three games, with Jacob Murphy and Jamal Lewis taking up the wing-back spots.

In midfield there are changes, Almiron’s reluctance to return has seen him drop to the bench with Jonjo Shelvey coming in., while Isaac Hayden comes into the XI in place of Jeff Hendrick after supporters called for him to return.

Sean Longstaff and Allan Saint-Maximin retain their spots in the team.

Up top, we expect Andy Carroll to start ahead of Joelinton as United try to replace Wilson’s firepower, as he’s still a doubt.
