Newcastle United may be in a difficult PSR situation right now, but that hasn’t stopped them from admiring a £ 100 million-rated player ahead of January.

Eddie Howe hasn’t had it easy at Newcastle United with injuries constantly plaguing his side, but the performance against Brentford wasn’t good enough.

The next two games are crucial against two sides who have been tipped for relegation, though Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Leicester are yet to lose under his management.

A couple of losses could really pile pressure on Howe and may even force Newcastle into some unwanted moves in January, as it would seriously hamper their European aspirations.

However, it appears as if January is very much still on the minds of those at Newcastle, as it’s been claimed that the Magpies still admire a long-term target.

Newcastle United still admire Brighton star Joao Pedro

Newcastle United tried to sign Joao Pedro during Dan Ashworth’s reign at St James’ Park, but the deal ended up collapsing.

The Brazilian has gone from strength to strength at Brighton and is now regarded as one of the best attackers in the Premier League.

However, a future move to Newcastle may not be out of the picture, as it’s been claimed that there is still some interest there from the Tyneside club.

According to TBR Football, Newcastle United are admirers of Joao Pedro.

Brighton would demand close to £100million for star striker Joao Pedro, but they have no plans to let him leave in the near future.

Is Joao Pedro realistic?

Well, the only way Newcastle could possibly sanction a move for Joao Pedro in the future would be to raise the £100 million desired for Bruno Guimaraes.

However, with aspirations to play in the Premier League, it could very much depend on whether Pedro would want to join a club who could potentially miss out.

There’s no doubting he would transform the Newcastle attack and a front three of Pedro, Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak does sound mouthwatering.

But, with the amount of clubs involved and the massive fee quoted, it does seem unlikely.
