Newcastle United stats, facts and figures for the 2025-26 season as Eddie Howe’s side competes in the Premier League and Champions League.

After a summer of hardship, the 2025-26 season is finally upon Newcastle United and it will be difficult to top last term.

Eddie Howe brought the club’s long wait for a trophy to an end by winning the Carabao Cup and securing Champions League football in 2024-25.

But instead of capitalising on that momentum, Newcastle have gone backwards this summer after missing out on several top targets.

Alexander Isak is also refusing to play for Newcastle as he hopes to push through a move to Liverpool.

The signings of Anthony Elanga, Malick Thiaw and Jacob Ramsey have added quality to the squad but it remains to be seen how well Newcastle will do.

Here are all the stats and facts you’ll need throughout the campaign.

Newcastle United Champions League campaign 2025-26

Newcastle will compete in the Champions League once again after qualifying for Europe’s top competition on the final day of last season.

The competition looks different to how it did two years ago, with teams now required to play eight games in the opening stage instead of six.

Newcastle will also play eight completely different teams instead of three sides twice in the new league phase format.

The top eight of the 36 teams qualify immediately for the last 16, while those positioned 9-24 will face off in a play-off qualifier.

Newcastle lost to Barcelona in their opening fixture before getting off the mark with a 4-0 win at Royale Union Saint-Gilloise and following that up with home victories against Benfica and Athletic Club.

They have five games remaining against Marseille, Leverkusen, PSV and PSG.
