Newcastle United are set for another busy week of action with two games in the Premier League on the cards over the next six days.
Eddie Howe’s side do not have long to revel in the glory of Newcastle United’s 4-1 win over Everton, with Tottenham up next on Tuesday.
A Spurs side veering into another crisis come to St James’ Park, five days before former Toon midfielder Scott Parker brings his struggling Burnley side to Tyneside.
If Malick Thiaw wasn’t your MOTM against Everton, who was?
The fixtures are already piling thick and fast and we’re still not at the busiest period of the campaign just yet.
Howe needs all of his players available, so here’s a look at the latest Newcastle United injury news.

Nick Pope
Nick Pope missed the win over Everton due to a groin injury and only Howe knows if he would have been dropped anyway following a series of mistakes in goal.
Still, whatever level of fan frustration Pope is attracting right now, it’s clear that Newcastle need him back.
Any injury to Aaron Ramsdale would mean John Ruddy would need to dust off his gloves and play an elite level game for the first time since May 2022.
The Newcastle United manager has confirmed that Pope will see a specialist for a scan, having suffered the injury in training.
“He’ll have a scan in the next few days to find the damage,” confirmed Howe in Saturday’s post-match press conference.
Potential return date: Unknown
Lewis Hall
Lewis Hall was once again brilliant for Newcastle against Everton and provided the assist for Malick Thiaw’s second goal.
The 21-year-old is building up his fitness but supporters cannot get carried away just yet.
Indeed, Howe confirmed after the Everton game that Hall had suffered cramp again, having been taken off towards the end. That’s not particularly alarming, but it’s worth keeping in mind over the next few weeks.
“Lewis suffered a bit of cramp at the end, so we need to continue to build his resilience and his robustness,” he said.
Potential return date: December 2025
Yoane Wissa
There has been some major news surrounding Yoane Wissa of late.
At last, Wissa has trained with his Newcastle teammates. Though he will surely be eased back into action considering the extent of his injury, it’s a huge boost for the club.
Howe has confirmed he’s got a return date in mind for the striker, though is keeping his cards close to his chest on that one.
How many goals do you think Yoane Wissa will actually score for Newcastle United this season?
“We have got a date in mind [for his debut] but we will keep that to ourselves,” he said during Friday’s pre-match press conference.
“I don’t want to disappoint anybody. We want to involve him as soon as possible, but we want him to be able to perform.”
Potential return date: December 2025
Kieran Trippier
Sadly for Tino Livramento, Kieran Trippier won’t be around to ease the burden on him at right-back during the next few games.
Trippier has suffered a hamstring injury and is likely to miss around a month of action as a result.
That makes him a major doubt for the trip to Sunderland later this month…
In his pre-match press conference, Howe said: “Kieran Trippier had a scan on his hamstring, we think it is roughly around a month, give or take.”
Potential return date: December 2025

Sven Botman
Sven Botman is dealing with an issue in his back and, speaking after the Everton game, Howe confirmed that the Dutch defender was set to see a specialist.
As such, his return date remains unclear.
“He’s going to see a specialist, fingers crossed it’s not too long,” said Howe.
“Any absence for a player of Sven’s quality, especially with the injuries that he’s had is a blow for us. So fingers crossed.”
Potential return date: Unknown
Emil Krafth
Emil Krafth would no doubt have been a useful option in the squad, given his ability to play at right-back and in central defence.
The Sweden international, however, got injured shortly before Tuesday’s defeat to Marseille and duly missed the Everton game.
Speaking before Saturday’s win, Howe revealed in his press conference: “He came back from international duty with a knee issue. I don’t think it’s anything too serious.
“He’s had a scan, which came back pretty good. So, whether he’s fit for this game [Everton], it’s probably too soon for him,” said the Magpies boss.
Potential return date: December 2025
William Osula
William Osula has impressed when called upon this season but an ankle injury has ruled him out of Newcastle’s last four games.
The forward, however, could return soon, as Howe confirmed in his pre-match press conference on Friday.
“He’s been to see a specialist on Monday to get an update on his ankle,” he said. “He’s still feeling a little bit of pain, even though all the scans have come back clear.
“We hope that he will be pain free, then we can build him up and he’ll be back pretty quickly.”
Potential return date: December 2025
