Newcastle United are using the international break wisely, as Eddie Howe aims to finish a disappointing season strongly.
The Magpies suddenly only have 10 games left, with their FA Cup journey coming to an end on Saturday evening.
Eddie Howe’s side were knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester City, with last season’s treble winners triumphing 2-0 thanks to two deflected goals. While both goals were lucky, the result was not.
There was a massive gulf between the two teams, and now Newcastle have 10 games to save their season. They can still qualify for Europe, but face an uphill battle.
And while big names such as Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon are now on international duty representing their countries, the rest of Eddie Howe‘s squad are off to Dubai. They are undergoing a warm weather training camp during the international break, but it is going to be a very private affair.

No media present during Newcastle United’s trip to Dubai
That is according to the Chronicle, who report that it will be a behind closed doors training camp. They state that there will be no media access, with even Newcastle United’s own media team not present.
There will be no NUFC TV footage from the Magpies’ training sessions in the Middle East, as Howe focusses solely on his players and the remaining 10 games of the season.
That will suit Howe, who knows that public perception does not matter right now. The only thing that will turn the tide is wins.
Qualifying for Europe is still a possibility, but it is going to be a challenge. For the first time this season, Newcastle will need to go on a bit of a run. They have struggled for consistency throughout the entire campaign, which is a big reason why we are currently down in 10th.
But Newcastle will believe they can at least finish as high as seventh, which would be enough to qualify for Europe. Eighth might be enough too, depending on who wins the FA Cup.
All the Magpies can do is focus on themselves, and ensure they are absolutely ready for their next game against West Ham, and the nine following fixtures. They will be working tirelessly during this international break, without the distractions of the media over in Dubai.
