Newcastle United have endured their fair share of transfer frustration in recent windows.
Last summer, of course, proved so bad for Newcastle that Alan Shearer publicly declared the club had “failed” manager Eddie Howe in his attempts to build something substantial.
Luckily, the Newcastle United manager is making things work on the pitch. His side have won all of their last five games across all competitions with fresh eyes on qualifying for the Champions League as well as reaching the Carabao Cup final.

Still, it would be nice to see Howe have his squad strengthened. Despite the recent turnaround in form, there have been times this season where things have looked a little stale.
While the January transfer window is likely to be reasonably quiet due to PSR limitations, names have been linked with a move to St James’ Park.

Newcastle set for double defensive transfer blow
It would be a shame to see Khusanov end up at City, particularly given recent reports suggesting a move to Newcastle was close.
Sadly, it seems another big target could end up elsewhere too.
GIVEMESPORT have recently suggested that Chelsea are in fact in pole position to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace this summer.
Newcastle failed to sign the England international last summer despite a number of bids, so watching him move to a positional rival would be a major blow.
Newcastle may need to go back to the drawing board in terms of defensive recruits.
