Newcastle United have officially announced their season ticket prices for the 2025/26 campaign.

Supporters will soon have the chance to renew their season ticket to continue watching Newcastle United during the new campaign. However, it will cost them more money than ever.

It has been announced that adult season tickets at St James’ Park will increase by 5%. Meanwhile, junior season tickets will remain the same price.

While Newcastle United had been called upon to freeze prices, those pleas have been ignored. Instead, prices are going up for the third season in a row.

It means an even bigger increase in price for thousands of supporters whose long-term deals are coming to an end.

The most expensive general admission adult season ticket to watch Newcastle United will now cost £940. The cheapest is £362.

Newcastle United use PSR excuse for season ticket cost

As Toon fans face up to the reality of having to pay more money for their season tickets, the club have used PSR as an excuse.

On the increase, CEO Darren Eales told the official website: “Raising ticket prices is a decision we make reluctantly but it is one that is unavoidable if we are to keep pace and build towards our collective ambitions. In a world of profit and sustainability rules, we must continue to face up to challenging decisions and find a balance that keeps football affordable while ensuring the club is able to compete.”

This comes after Newcastle’s financial accounts showed the club has increased its revenue by £70million. On top of that, Newcastle are set for a PSR boost as the club prepares to enter a new financial cycle.

But it is seemingly is not enough, and it is the supporters who will pay the price.

Newcastle United fans furious as season ticket prices increase

Unsurprisingly, Toon supporters are furious with the club’s announcement on Thursday afternoon.

They have responded to the news on X (formerly known as Twitter), criticising them for boosting prices once again.

One supporter mocked the club’s announcement, writing: “We listened to your concerns then completely ignored them.”

Another added: “Another 5% increase when I’ve seen other clubs freezing ST prices. They will probably make an extra what, £1million? That is absolutely nothing to them but the increase is big to a lot of fans.”

A third Newcastle United fan wrote: “Absolute joke again. More and more local fans will get priced out and any of the atmosphere we’ve got left will be gone. They couldn’t care any less about the fans.”

This member of the Toon Army added: “Needless. Should’ve followed the examples of Liverpool/West Ham/Brentford. PSR isn’t a valid excuse and cash flow isn’t a problem. It’s just greed!”

“On a week of constant bad news for Newcastle fans this could have been the easiest win for the club but instead here we are taking another loss,” wrote another fan on the back of Anthony Gordon’s suspension and Lewis Hall and Sven Botman’s injuries.

Finally, one supporter summed up the announcement with one word: “Indefensible.”

Clubs that have frozen season ticket prices unlike Newcastle United

While Newcastle Untied have chosen to increase the price of their season tickets, many of their Premier League rivals have opted to freeze theirs.

The likes of Brentford, West Ham United and Liverpool have confirmed that they are not increasing the price of their season tickets.

Elsewhere, Arsenal have announced that their prices are going up – just like Newcastle United’s.
