While Liverpool could not beat Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final, they have been able to get over the line and win the Premier League title.
With four games to spare, Arne Slot has guided Liverpool to Premier League glory. It is a remarkable achievement for the man who replaced Jurgen Klopp last summer.
They guaranteed top spot on Sunday, 24 hours after Newcastle United beat Ipswich Town to move up to third in the Premier League.
Liverpool can no longer be caught in first place, breezing past Tottenham Hotspur to win 5-1 and secure their 20th league title.

Newcastle United owner’s reaction to Liverpool triumph
The Reds are deserving winners, and Newcastle United co-owner Jamie Reuben has reacted to Liverpool’s trophy triumph.
After clinching the title against Spurs, Liverpool posted a video to their official X account to commemorate becoming Premier League champions.
The video received a one-word reply from Reuben, who commented: “Congratulations.”
He will hope that one day it will be Newcastle United who are declared as Premier League champions. That has been one of the club’s goals ever since the 2021 takeover.
PIF want Newcastle to become elite within the next five years, which means challenging for the top prizes in England and Europe.
Jamie Reuben’s classy message after Newcastle United win
While the Premier League champions have been confirmed, so have the three relegated clubs.
Newcastle’s 3-0 win over Ipswich Town confirmed their relegation to the Championship, with Kieran McKenna’s side unable to survive following promotion to the top flight.
Following the win at St James’ Park, Reuben took to X to welcome Eddie Howe back to the dugout after illness, while he also wished Ipswich Town a swift return to the Premier League.
Reuben wrote on Saturday: “Great result today and so good to have Eddie back in the dugout, fans were class as usual. Best wishes to @IpswichTown and look forward to seeing them back in the Prem again soon!!”
With the title won and all three relegation places confirmed, all there is left to play for in the Premier League is European qualification.
Newcastle United are at the heart of that battle, as they aim to return to the Champions League.
No matter what happens, the Magpies will be in Europe next season. Winning the Carabao Cup handed them qualification for the Europa Conference League playoffs.
However, Newcastle United’s main objective is to qualify for UEFA’s biggest competition.
