Newcastle United have been drawn against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

On Wednesday night, Newcastle United beat Fulham 2-1 in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.

A Lewis Miley goal in stoppage time saw off the Cottagers, after Sasa Lukic had cancelled out Yoane Wissa’s opener.

Who was your MOTM against Fulham? For what it’s worth, I thought Jacob Ramsey was very good 😍😍

Newcastle were not at their best but, ultimately, they did enough to win the game and continue the defence of their Carabao Cup trophy.

Newcastle United to play Manchester City in Carabao Cup semi-finals

Eddie Howe‘s side were rewarded for their victory with a very tough draw against Man City.

Still, Howe did claim a first win over Pep Guardiola in the Premier League last month and has previously knocked him out of this competition.

Back in September 2023, the Magpies beat City 1-0 on Tyneside in the third-round of the tournament.

City remain a dangerous opponent but are perhaps not quite the force of old. Though certainly a challenge, there’s no reason to believe Newcastle’s Carabao Cup journey will come to an end at the semi-final stage.

The first leg is scheduled for the week commencing Monday, 12 January, 2026 and will be played at St James’ Park.

The second leg will take place on the week commencing Monday, 2 February, 2026.
