Newcastle United have been linked with an ambitious bid for Dusan Vlahovic.
The Serbian striker is a man in demand, and is one of the hottest young strikers in the world today.
Vlahovic currently plays for Fiorentina in Serie A where he is the league’s top scorer. He’s scored 16 league goals, with another two cup strikes taking his overall tally to 18 so far.

But he’s being heavily linked with a move to the Premier League. Arsenal and Tottenham have reportedly been chasing his signature, with the former seemingly leading the race to sign the 21-year-old.
But given Newcastle’s newfound wealth and need for a striker, they’re looking to barge their way into the conversation.

And the Independent’s Miguel Delaney has given an interesting update on the Magpies’ attitude towards signing Vlahovic.

Newcastle reportedly ready to outbid Arsenal for Dusan Vlahovic no matter what
In his weekly newsletter Reading The Game, Delaney claims that Newcastle’s owners are ready to outbid Arsenal to land Vlahovic. Whatever Arsenal want to pay, the Magpies are reportedly willing to pay more.
However, Delaney adds that the forward wants to join a bigger club.
That’s quite understandable. We’re in a relegation battle, and Vlahovic is one of the best young strikers around. His next move is going to be pivotal for his development up the footballing ladder. He was an ambitious target anyway, and the fact we’re even trying to sign him is impressive in itself.

The fact that Newcastle’s owners are willing to outbid Arsenal shows their desire to make a splash this month. It’s a crucial month too, as we need extra reinforcements to help us achieve Premier League survival.
We’ve already brought in one big name, signing Kieran Trippier for £12million. Others will likely arrive, but a move for Vlahovic seems ambitious despite PIF’s willingness to spend big money.
But it’s an indication of what the future holds for Newcastle. Next summer could be wild if we survive in the Premier League.
