Newcastle United are reportedly one of four Premier League clubs tracking Tyrick Mitchell, alongside Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.
That’s according to the Sun, who suggest their could be a transfer battle on the horizon for the Crystal Palace defender.
Mitchell is having a wonderful season, establishing himself as the number one left-back at Selhurst Park.

The 22-year-old has been an ever-present for Patrick Vieira’s side in the Premier League, starting every game for the Eagles. He’s been a picture of consistency in what has been a great season for Crystal Palace.
He’s been rewarded for his form too, getting his first England callup. The Three Lions are set for friendlies against Switzerland and Cote D’Ivoire.
Now he’s got some of the ‘big six’ chasing his signature, while Newcastle are potentially looking to go head-to-head with the Premier League’s elite.

A Newcastle move for Tyrick Mitchell feels unlikely
While he would be an excellent signing for the Magpies, a move for the youngster feels unlikely.
Given the calibre of clubs looking at him, it’s hard to see how Newcastle could tempt him to St James’ Park – even with our newfound wealth.

The other clubs will be able to offer European football, something that is beyond the Magpies right now. The fact Chelsea are mentioned raises some eyebrows, as their immediate future is uncertain amid takeover speculation.
Mitchell might be inclined to stay with Palace, such is the success they’re having this season. They could even end up in Europe themselves if they triumph in the FA Cup.
There is no doubting the fact he’s a great player with a bright future. However, it’s hard to see him holding up a black and white shirt this summer.
