Newcastle have been trying to sign Armando Broja, but the forward has now received assurances from Thomas Tuchel that he’ll get minutes at Chelsea.
Following the collapse of the Hugo Ekitike deal, Broja emerged as the Magpies’ top striker target. A loan deal felt like a possibility, although we faced major competition from our Premier League rivals.
West Ham and Everton were both keen too, and the former even came agonizingly close to signing him. However, a £30million move to the London Stadium collapsed as the Hammers moved for Gianluca Scamacca.

That opened the door for Newcastle, but it quickly closed again. The Telegraph reported that Eddie Howe had cooled his interest in Broja, with the 20-year-old wanting guaranteed first-team football.
That wasn’t going to happen at St James’ Park, with Callum Wilson boasting the role of Newcastle’s main striker.
Broja has since been in a difficult situation, but it looks like his immediate future is now resolved.
Broja staying at Chelsea after Tuchel talks
According to Football London, the Albaina international is staying at Stamford Bridge. They report that the striker has been reassured by Tuchel that he will get first-team football at Chelsea.

That has already proven to be the case, with the youngster coming off the bench in the Blues’ 1-0 win over Everton on Saturday.
Whether or not he eventually becomes a starter remains to be seen. It feels unlikely given the wealth of talent that Tuchel has in attack.
It’s actually quite surprising to hear that Broja will get an opportunity at Chelsea this season. A move away felt almost certain.

But that doesn’t appear to be happening, which is a blow to any slim hope Newcastle had of reigniting a deal.
Broja would have been an excellent option for the Magpies, who still need attacking reinforcements. Wilson showed his worth on Saturday with a goal, but there is always a fear that he will be struck down by injury.
But that’s no longer Broja’s problem. He’s not coming to Newcastle, and now he’s going to get the chance to prove his worth at Chelsea.
