Newcastle United turned down a bid of over £100 million for Bruno Guimaraes this summer.
According to Football Transfers, Newcastle United rejected an offer worth over £100 million from PSG for Bruno Guimaraes in the recent transfer window.
Premier League rivals Liverpool also apparently tabled £100 million for the Brazilian midfielder. However, Newcastle were determined to keep Bruno at St James’ Park, and successfully fended off the advances from both the Reds and the French giants.
PSG’s bid is said to have exceeded £100 million in value, but the exact amount that was proffered is not clear. In any case, it is a sure sign of the Tyneside club’s recent progress that they felt able to turn down such an astronomical sum for the 25-year-old.

Doubt over the future of Bruno Guimaraes at Newcastle
Having paid £40 million to prise Bruno away from Lyon in January 2022, the Magpies could have cashed in on him for a huge profit this summer.
However, the £120,000-a-week star is a central figure in Eddie Howe’s plans at Newcastle. Losing his services this summer would have been a huge blow for the club to have to absorb, and even with plenty of money in the bank, replacing a player of Bruno’s quality is no easy task.
The battle to keep Bruno at the club is not likely to be over, though. According to the aforementioned report, the player is currently in talks over a new contract with Newcastle, and is pushing for a release clause to be included in the deal. That clause may turn out to be agreed at a figure between £100 million and £150 million.
If that is the case, PSG, Liverpool, and other suitors may be tempted to trigger his release clause in either the next January or summer transfer window.
