Elliot Anderson has signed a new contract at St James’ Park, much to the delight of many of his Newcastle United teammates.
The 19-year-old has put pen to paper on a new deal, meaning his long-term future remains in the North East. He’s enjoying a breakthrough year, and this is the latest achievement for Anderson.
After excelling on loan in League Two at the start of the year, he is now pushing for a start in the Premier League. Anderson has came off the bench in games against Liverpool, Wolves and Crystal Palace, and excelled in each appearance.

He was particularly impressive against the Eagles, with his performance earning Eddie Howe’s trust.
That led to calls for him to start against Bournemouth, but he instead missed out due to injury. He will hope to return against Fulham, and he will do so with a shiny new contract.

Following the announcement, Anderson has taken to social media to express his joy at extending his stay at St James’ Park.
The midfielder wrote on his official Instagram account: “Delighted to commit my future to this huge club and continue my boyhood dream. Really excited to be a part of the coming years.”
Multiple players from Newcastle’s present and past have commented on the post.
Matt Targett wrote: “Well deserved mate.”
Joe White added: “The goat.”
Ex-Toon midfielder Kyle Scott also commented. He wrote: “Congrats my guy. Fully deserved.”
There were also comments from Rolando Aarons and Anderson’s former Tranmere teammate Antony Evans.
Elsewhere, Warren Barton wished the teenager luck via the club’s official Instagram page. The retired right-back said: “Congrats and good luck.”
There’s a lot of buzz around Anderson and his new deal. It’s a significant milestone in what is set to be an exciting career at St James’ Park.
His next goal will be to start a Premier League game, then he will look to provide goals and assists in the top flight.
Anderson appears to have the natural ability and temperament to thrive in black and white, and fans are very eager to see what the future holds for the youngster.
