Newcastle United have reignited their interest in summer target who has been brilliant in the Championship this season and shares an agent with Eddie Howe and Harvey Barnes.

Howe’s side are absolutely desperate for more attacking flair this season as their poor form continued on Monday night with a defeat to Liverpool.

Football Transfers have now revealed that Newcastle have reignited their interest in Leeds’ Crysencio Summerville after tracking the winger in the summer window but never made an approach.

Newcastle want Leeds man to add depth in attack

Newcastle’s unwanted injury record has left them very thin up top and with more injuries piling up this month as Callum Wilson picked up another knock they are in need of reinforcements.

Summerville could be an ideal candidate to bring through and help to add some attacking flair to the team after an incredible first half of the season in which he’s recorded 18 goals and assists in 24 Championship games.

However, Leeds are likely to want a decent fee for their star man and it’s well known by now that Newcastle’s budget isn’t exactly substantial, so agreeing on a fee may prove to be difficult.

That doesn’t mean they can’t admire the winger and perhaps monitor his situation through to the summer when the budget is bigger, or they could even fast-track a January move like they did with Anthony Gordon if the club deems it important enough.

Summerville’s agent could prove to be key for Newcastle

Although Leeds’ stance may be that they are unwilling to sell after the winger has excelled under Daniel Farke, Newcastle will be hoping that American agency Wasserman can prove to be a valuable tool in any potential deal.

Barnes, Howe and Lewis Hall all share the same agent with the ‘brilliant‘ Dutch youth international and they were key to getting the two players to sign in the summer.

They could look to make it three out of three in January with the addition of Summerville, but the biggest issue they face will be prying him away from Leeds who will be looking to win promotion back to the Premier League this season.
