Newcastle United are now showing interest in recruiting a Juventus player in January who can help to solve their injury woes.
Newcastle have emerged as a possible destination for left-back Andrea Cambiaso as they look to bolster that position which has been ravaged by injuries.
Tutto Juve are now reporting that Newcastle hold significant interest in the defender but will face competition from some of their Premier League rivals.
Newcastle hope Cambiaso can solve injury problems
Dan Burn and Matt Targett have been out for over a month now as Newcastle’s injury crisis continues, but the January market is a chance for them to bolster their squad and they have identified the Juventus man as a possible solution.
The 23-year-old is viewed as a very hard-working player for Juventus, which is likely why Newcastle have identified him as a perfect character for Eddie Howe to use.
It’s understood that Newcastle would be prepared to spend around £13m on the defender, but that they would have a hard time in prying him away from the Serie A club who are in great form this season.
Cambiaso has made 14 appearances in the league so far this season, playing a key role in helping Juventus reach second in the league and the club are now reluctant to let him go because of his incredible attitude.

Newcastle aren’t the only team interested in Cambiaso
Newcastle are one of a handful of teams who have their eye on the Italian. Aston Villa and Fulham are also keen on bringing in a new left-back in the upcoming window.
Cambiaso is clearly thought to be a top talent and one that a number of teams would like to develop at their club.
While Newcastle have their injury problems to sort out, Villa have been after a left-back since the summer while Fulham are looking to bring the Juventus man in to add to their depth with Antonee Robinson playing most games in that position this season.
