Managers here there and everywhere are being linked with the Newcastle job, including Claudio Ranieri.
According to Sky Sports, the Italian is interested in taking over at St James’ Park. However, that should be as far as it goes.

Ranieri is an absolute gentleman, and you’ll often find people in football talking up the Tinkerman. But sadly his managerial exploits have left a lot to be desired in the past year.
Claudio Ranieri isn’t what he once was
Sure, his achievement at Leicester was remarkable. He managed to take a bang average side to the top of the Premier League and win the title over some of the richest teams around.

But his recent stint at Fulham was woeful. Ranieri replaced Slavisa Jokanovic last season, but was unable to guide them to safety. If anything, Fulham got worse and Ranieri didn’t even make the end of the season.
He then got the Roma job, but ended the Serie A campaign in 6th place, failing to qualify for the Champions League.

Ranieri has managed some huge teams throughout his career, all over Europe. His CV is certainly impressive, but that doesn’t mean he should be considered for the Newcastle job.
There are better options out there. Younger managers who have fresher ideas to take a club that is down on its knees forward. Ranieri wouldn’t be able to do that.
