Newcastle United were linked with Ben Godfrey over the weekend.
The Magpies are reportedly looking at a potential swoop for the 24-year-old this summer.

Eddie Howe is thought to be a big fan of the former Norwich City man. And it remains to be seen if he is someone the club will move for.
Given Newcastle will have much more time to do business this summer, it would be a surprise to see Godfrey be anything like a priority target.
But he could be someone Howe’s wants to bring in.
Godfrey was linked with a move to Newcastle on Saturday night. That was ahead of Everton’s FA Cup quarter-final clash with Crystal Palace on Sunday.
It was, therefore, going to be interesting to see how he got on at Selhurst Park.

Unfortunately, it was a tough day at the office for Godfrey down in London.
Everton ended up losing 4-0 to Patrick Vieira’s side. And he and the other defenders were really given the runaround by the Eagles attack.
The Liverpool Echo were not impressed with his display, giving him just 3/10 and writing: “Playing on the right-hand side of a centre-back trio, he was tasked with trying to contain Wilfried Zaha but the Crystal Palace dangerman left him firmly in his wake to tee up Jean-Philippe Mateta for a simple second goal and had him on his backside with a piece of second half trickery.”
3/10 was the lowest rating given out, with Mason Holgate and Michael Keane also receiving the same score.
Ben Godfrey struggles for Everton vs Crystal Palace but he still has big potential
He had a hard time yesterday against Palace’s talented attackers.
It’s been a tough season for Godfrey and all the Everton defenders this term.

But he is still young, and has some good attributes on paper.
If Howe wants him, then the manager should be backed if the club brought a deal to fruition.
A number of Newcastle players have responded extremely well to Howe’s arrival. And Godfrey is someone that could enjoy a new lease of life at St. James’ Park.
