The most exciting thing about Newcastle United right now is the idea of what’s to come.

While the work Eddie Howe and his team are doing at the moment is brilliant to see, this is only the first full season of the PIF era.

Indeed, it stands to reason that the more time Newcastle have under their owners, the more competitive the squad will become.

Though football rarely works so simply, that would surely take a team already fighting for Champions League qualification up another level.

Were that to be the case, perhaps trophy challenges are not too far away.

Excitingly, it’s not only what’s happening on the pitch that is so promising.

Newcastle United looking to make new appointments

According to The Chronicle, the club are now looking to appoint a Director of Brand, Marketing & Digital Media.

The hope is that the successful candidate will be able to grow the Newcastle United brand overseas as they look to keep up with the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool.

A top London recruitment firm is understood to have been brought in as Newcastle look to improve their standing across the pond in the United States.

These kind of things are hugely important

While talk of Twitter followings and social media impressions might turn the average match-going fan off, there is little doubt these kind of things are important.

If Newcastle want to be competing with some of the biggest clubs around the world, their off-field standing is just as important as the one on the pitch.

To make much more of a footprint globally can only be a good thing.

In the years to come, Newcastle will surely be going up against the elite for potential signings and the like. If they are going to win those battles, they need to be offering the kind of environment the established elite currently boast.
