Newcastle United have confirmed that Florent Indalecio has been released.
The club’s academy announced their retained list on Tuesday afternoon, with multiple youngsters confirmed to be leaving.
Indalecio was one of them, despite only joining the club in October.
The Frenchman was a surprise arrival, impressing during a trial last summer.
Despite being 23-years-old, Indalecio spent his time with the academy. He had previously been playing in Australia, as well as working as a brick layer.

He certainly had talent though, scoring an absolute stunner during training.
The trial had been arranged by Allan Saint-Maximin, whom Indalecio is friends with.
At the time of his signing, Steve Bruce admitted it was a gamble, but that he hadn’t just been signed because of his relationship with Newcastle’s number 10.
“It certainly helps Allan, it’s his mate. But make no mistake, we haven’t just signed him because he’s Allan’s mate,” Bruce told Goal.
“He’s got a bit of talent, otherwise he wouldn’t be coming in.”
Sadly, he seemingly didn’t have enough talent to earn a longer stay at St James’ Park.
If he had, perhaps his pal Saint-Maximin would be more inclined to stay.

The 24-year-old spoke about his future weeks ago, admitting he doesn’t want to be battling relegation.
Newcastle would reportedly only sell Saint-Maximin for £70million. But even then, they shouldn’t.
While we don’t know what the future holds for ASM, the player he helped bring in has been released without a single appearance for the first-team.
