Ever since the PIF and Co took over Newcastle United there has been a strong emphasis on building for the future.
Newcastle moved quickly to bring in Dan Ashworth from Brighton after seeing the impressive work he’d done there in setting the club up for a strong future, and even since he’s left, Brighton continue to impress.
Now Newcastle are building their own legacy by snapping up hot young talent that they look to develop into future stars, rather than going all out and throwing money around on established names.
Newcastle have their long-term full-backs already in place
Once such youngster that Newcastle brought into the fold this summer was lifelong Newcastle fan Lewis Hall who arrived on an initial season-long loan with an obligation to buy for £28million from Chelsea.
Hall made his full debut for Newcastle on Wednesday, playing the opening 45 minutes against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup on the opposite flank to Tino Livramento, another youngster earmarked for a big future.

In fact, a report in The Athletic has claimed that Newcastle have a ‘big idea’ that Hall and Livramento will develop into first-choice full-backs for the club.
There’s so much talent in the reserves and below at Newcastle
With Hall just 19 years old and Livramento 20, the pair have lots of years ahead of them and if they stick around at Newcastle they could become instrumental in whatever success is delivered on the pitch as the PIF project continues to take shape.

Along with the likes of Elliot Anderson, Lewis Miley, Yankuba Minteh, Harrison Ashby and Garang Kuol, there’s a wealth of exciting talent bubbling under the first-team right now.
In my many years supporting this club, I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited about the future as I am now.
