It was a happy Valentine’s Day for Newcastle United co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi, who celebrated his birthday on Monday.
The husband of Amanda Staveley turned 51, and shares his special day with Toon legend Kevin Keegan.
Newcastle United’s official Twitter account wished the pair a happy birthday, which is not something you perhaps would’ve seen in years gone by. There was definitely no ‘happy birthday Mike Ashley’ messages. Nor was Lee Charnley’s wedding anniversary celebrated.

But the new Newcastle are engaged with the fans, and the new owners are front and centre. They’re doing their best to transform the club on and off the pitch, and they’re certainly doing that so far.
The Magpies finally escaped the relegation zone last week. Then on Sunday they made it a hat trick of Premier League wins for the first time since November 2018.
It was a hard fought victory against Aston Villa, grinding out a 1-0 win thanks to a Kieran Trippier free kick.

Kieran Trippier goal made sure it was a happy birthday for Mehrdad Ghodoussi
After receiving birthday wishes from the club’s official Twitter account, Ghodoussi responded to the message.
He wrote: “Thank you NUFC. You gave me the best birthday present yesterday, 3pts.”
The win against Aston Villa was absolutely huge, and capped off a perfect few days for the Magpies after the midweek triumph over Everton.
However, there was a low point. Trippier limped off with a foot injury, and is now set for a spell on the sidelines after fracturing his fifth metatarsal.
That put a downer on Toon fans’ Monday, and it will have disappointed Ghodoussi as he was tucking into his birthday cake.
The England defender has been sensational since his £12million January move from Atletico Madrid. But now it is up to his teammates to prove that they can continue to thrive without him.
