Newcastle fans will love seeing who Sandro Tonali is sitting next to on the plane to the USA

The day after Newcastle United beat Rangers in a friendly, Eddie Howe’s side are off to America for the next stage of their pre-season preparations.

The trip to Glasgow was a fruitful one, with the Magpies making it back-to-back wins thanks to Harrison Ashby’s late goal. We also saw Sandro Tonali make his Toon debut, and he really impressed supporters with his performance.

Next on the agenda for Tonali and Newcastle is the USA, where Howe’s side are competing in the Premier League Summer Series. The Magpies are set for friendlies against Aston Villa, Chelsea and Brighton.

It will be a tough trip in warm conditions against strong opposition, but a great opportunity for Tonali to continue his integration into the group.

The 23-year-old hasn’t even been training with his new teammates for a full week, so the USA visit will hopefully help him learn more about the rest of the team and settle in as best he can.

One thing Toon fans are really excited about is seeing Tonali play alongside Bruno Guimaraes. That did not happen on Tuesday night, but the pair have since spent some time together.

Plenty of pictures have been released as Newcastle travel to the States. And fans will be buzzing to see that Bruno and Tonali were sat next to each other on the plane. The new signing even cracked a slight smile, which is rare!

The Italian midfielder has already expressed how excited he is about playing alongside the former Lyon man, so hopefully the hours they spent next to each other in the air will have helped them gain a better understanding of each other.

While Tonali was impressive against Rangers, Bruno was somewhat off the pace, and was at fault for Rangers’ goal. But it was merely an off-night for the Brazilian, who will be keen to regain his sharpness as soon as possible.

Next up for Newcastle is Aston Villa on Sunday night, which will hopefully be the first time we see Bruno and Tonali play alongside each other – and that could be the start of something very special.
