Newcastle United were expressing their surprise last night, as it was announced Steve Bruce is to take calls on the radio from fans on Thursday.
BBC Newcastle commentator Matthew Raisbeck made the announcement last night on Twitter.
He said that Bruce will be in the Total Sport studio on Thursday from 6pm.
New signing Joe Willock will also be on the show on Wednesday to answer questions.
The show will be completely live, and there will be no delays on the programme.
Raisbeck says that fans can talk to the 60-year-old directly, and no subject is off-limits.
It is a very surprising thing for Bruce to put himself at the mercy of supporters.
Since he has been at the helm, Bruce has frustrated many a Toon fan with the way he speaks.
People can accept his shortcomings as a coach to a degree, but lots feel he never helps himself in post-match interviews and how he speaks about the supporters.
It is going to be very interesting to see how he deals with potential scrutiny.
It is an exercise that really could go one of two ways.
