It seems like nothing can appease some Newcastle fans these days, not even a new contract for Jamaal Lascelles.
The news is well timed, as it was this week that the defender was linked with a move away from St James’ Park. According to the Chronicle, both Tottenham and Chelsea were monitoring Lascelles.
Lascelles has been heavily linked with a move away from the Magpies over the past year, and it was only 13 months ago that he signed another new contract.
But as Newcastle prepare for another relegation battle, they now know they should be able to rely on their skipper for the rest of the season. However, that’s not how some fans see it.
