The man we all want to see back in action has returned to training.
Newcastle released official training pictures today, with multiple players returning ahead of the trip to Wolves this weekend. But the player who got the biggest reaction is Allan Saint-Maximin.
We’ve been without the Frenchman since the win against Southampton, and it’s fair to say we’ve been awful in his absence. The Magpies have won just once, showing how reliant they already are on Saint-Maximin.
Ahead of the game against Wolves, the club tweeted: “Saint-Maximin has also been back out on the grass this week as he makes good progress in his recovery from a hamstring injury.”
There’s no guarantees that he’ll be ready to play on Saturday. After losing the winger for so long to an avoidable injury, Steve Bruce will surely be careful about bringing him back.
But just in case, the Toon fans have sent Bruce a clear message about what to do with Saint-Maximin – don’t rush him!
Newcastle fans willing to be patient with Saint-Maximin
Please, don’t push him to much. Let him have a couple of training sessions first.

We need him back but please don’t rush him. Last thing we need is for him to be straight back out again.
