The PFA Team of the Year has been announced for this season, but no Newcastle players feature.
The team consists of six Manchester City players, four from Liverpool and Paul Pogba acting as the lone representative for teams outside the top two.

His inclusion has sparked a lot of debate, with fans across the country wondering how on earth the Frenchman has been included in the team of the season.
Newcastle fans have also had their say, wondering why some of Rafa Benitez’s men haven’t been picked. However, I imagine some of it is tongue in cheek…

Bar the inclusion of Pogba, it’s hard to argue with the team. Manchester City and Liverpool have been streets ahead of the rest, so it’s no surprise the team is primarily made up of their players.
The main Newcastle player that has been talked about is Fabian Schar, showing how much of a fans’ favourite he is.

The Swiss defender has proven to be an absolute bargain, and one that fans love to watch. He’s scored three times this season, two of which have been absolute stunners.
There was his incredible run and finish against Cardiff, which was then bettered by a thunderous strike from distance against Burnley.
Has he been better than Virgil van Dijk or Aymeric Laporte though? Maybe not…

Another name mentioned by Toon fans was Isaac Hayden, who some believe has had a better year than Pogba.
One fan summed things up perfectly. No matter who makes the best XI, Benitez could put a team out against it and still win.
