Newcastle United’s shock 2-1 victory over Man City in January is still the defending champions’ only loss in 2019, and Toon fans are now even more elated then they were two months ago.
Man City beat Fulham 2-0 on Saturday, making it their 12th win in their last 12 matches.
However, had it not been for Newcastle, it would have been their 21st consecutive win of 2019.
Newcastle hosted Man City at St James’ Park almost exactly 2 months ago on 29th January, and weren’t given much of a chance.
They conceded a goal to Sergio Aguero within one minute, yet somehow came back to defy the odds.

A brilliantly taken volley from Salomon Rondon tied the game, before a late penalty from Matt Ritchie sealed a memorable victory.
Given City’s almost unstoppable charge of late, the result is even more impressive in hindsight.
The Manchester side are in contention to win the triple in 2019, and if they did it would make Newcastle’s victory all the more famous.
Their recent results mean Toon fans are beginning to look back on the victory with even more pride, and more praise for Rafa.
