According to TEAMtalk, Anthony Hudson is in contention to replace Rafa Benitez as Newcastle boss. Who?

When I first saw this link, I read it as Anthony Hutton, the former Big Brother contest from way back when and thought this was just a joke. But no, apparently we’re interested in current MLS boss Anthony Hudson, who seems just as credible as the Geordie reality TV ‘star’.

Hudson is 38-years-old, currently in charge of Colarado Rapids. His CV also includes stints at Newport County and Real Maryland Monarchs, as well as New Zealand and Bahrain. That is the man linked with replacing former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Inter Milan manager Rafa Benitez.

Of course, this might not be true. TEAMtalk have had multiple Newcastle ‘exclusives’ in recent times that have proven to be wide of the mark. Although it would be just our luck for this one to be on the money…

Unsurprisingly, fans are not happy with this. Not that they were happy to begin with after Benitez was allowed to walk away.

The process to find Benitez’s successor will no doubt be long and tedious and have an unhappy ending, just like everything at Mike Ashley’s Newcastle United.
