Newcastle United supporters have been giving their reactions to the claim that Dan Ashworth could be set for a role at St. James’ Park.
According to The Athletic, Ashworth’s club Brighton have given him permission to speak to the Magpies about potentially becoming the club’s next director of football.
Brighton don’t want to lose Ashworth, who has been responsible for some shrewd recruitment at the Amex Stadium in recent times.
The 50-year-old is highly regarded, and is currently on a rolling contract with the south coast club.
Recently, Amanda Staveley hired Nicky Hammond on a temporary basis to help with January recruitment.
Nolan Partners were also drafted in to help find a new director of football.
