Newcastle United fans have been reacting to defender Ciaran Clark’s post-match assessment of yesterday’s defeat to Chelsea.
Graeme Jones’ second game in charge resulted in a 3-0 loss to the Premier League leaders.

It was another awful display from the Magpies.
There was next to no attacking threat, and no desire to try and take the game to Chelsea.
There was a clear fear factor at play – Newcastle were trying not to lose the game.
Given Newcastle have far inferior players to Chelsea and were not expected to get anything from the game, the plan really should have been to just have a go.
Mick Quinn questioned Jones’ tactics on social media last night.
After the match, Ciaran Clark gave an interview with the club’s offical website.
He said: “We frustrated them for the first 60, 65 minutes. That was our game plan. We wanted to try and keep them out, we knew the quality they had in their side.
“We wanted to catch them on the counter-attack and maybe get a chance ourselves. Just try and stay in the game. We managed to do that and it took a wonder strike from (Reece) James.
Newcastle fans angered
On social media, some Toon fans have been reacting to Clark’s view of the game.
The 32-year-old response has angered a few people, as it suggests that Newcastle were never really thinking about going for it.

It does not sound like the Magpies were wanting to take the game to Chelsea, and were simply relying on catching the league leaders on the break.
People made it very clear they were disappointed:
