The Daily Star have reported that Newcastle are interested in signing David Brooks this summer.
The Bournemouth playmaker has had a brilliant debut season in the Premier League, making him a very exciting target for the Magpies.

But surely he is an unrealistic target?
Despite only moving to Bournemouth last summer, the Welsh international has already extended his contract with the Cherries, meaning a move for him would be very expensive.
With the way money has been at St James’ Park, there’s no way we’ll splash out on a British player who will command an over-inflated fee.
Miguel Almiron’s arrival was the first marquee signing under Rafa Benitez, but it is unknown how many more there will be.

For Benitez to stay, he needs reassurances about the finances available. Signing a player like Brooks would certainly make him happy, but it just seems very unlikely.
Fans would love to see us move for the 21-year-old, but most believe he’s far too good to be at Newcastle.
It says a lot that moving from Bournemouth to Newcastle is considered a step down these days…
