According to the Mirror, Huddersfield want to sign Newcastle winger Jacob Murphy on loan.
The Terriers are looking to boost their attacking options as they look to avoid relegation, and have identified Murphy as a target. The 23-year-old has barely featured in black and white this season, struggling to kick on after a disappointing debut campaign.
The midfielder cost Newcastle £12million in 2017 from Norwich, but is yet to prove he is worth the lofty fee. Cheaper players have performed much better than him, which has sometimes resulted in Murphy struggling to even get on the bench.

But would sending him out on loan to a direct relegation rival be a good idea? The fans don’t think so.

The general consensus is that Murphy must not join Huddersfield. While he is out of favour at Newcastle, it would be a ridiculous risk to let him join a team that are looking to survive in the Premier League at our expense.
While he does need to get minutes under his belt, our top flight status is much more important.
Murphy is somewhat of a divisive figure at Newcastle, often performing brilliantly in bursts before eventually flattering to deceive.
Whether or not you think he’s any good, Newcastle fans seem united by the fact that he must not join a relegation rival. Sorry Huddersfield.
