Amazingly, Florian Lejeune is already back in training at Newcastle.
The French defender suffered a horrific injury during pre-season, one that risked ending his season before it begun.
But Lejeune’s recovery has been incredible, and today he returned to first-team training.
The club confirmed the news on Twitter, posting a picture of him alongside a man he’ll soon be competing with, Federico Fernandez.

Lejeune performed brilliantly last season, forming a fantastic partnership with captain Jamaal Lascelles.
However, one fan can’t help but see the cynical side. Some supporters struggle to be positive about Newcastle nowadays, as the fan explains:
Boost for Benitez
While he obviously isn’t ready for selection just yet, Lejeune’s return poses a problem for Rafa Benitez.
The Magpies are well stocked at centre-back, with two new defenders arriving in the summer. Fernandez has been a rock since signing from Swansea, while Fabian Schar has proven his worth in recent weeks as well.
On top of that, we have Lascelles, who is often the first name on the team-sheet. Lejeune’s return will give Benitez a selection headache, but it’s certainly not a bad thing.
It will be up to the gaffer to find the best partnership at the back, and that may or may not include Lejeune.
