BeIn Sports is set to be unblocked in Saudi Arabia shortly allowing a potential Newcastle takeover to be smoothed through.

Craig Hope of the Daily Mail has provided some positive news earlier today. He suggested that arbitration may not be needed now that the piracy issue has been resolved.

This development stopped the previous deal being sent to the Premier League. That has since thrown a spanner in the works, with this resolution now looking positive for Newcastle.

This could see the Premier League compromise with Newcastle without any need for lawyers to get involved.

The Chronicle have also had their say today. They believe that the consortium is ready to go and can put things in place in a matter of weeks.

Amanda Staveley who is likely to be a key figure in any deal taking place is currently on holiday. If a green light is given, however, she could be ready to cut that short.

A major obstacle looks to have finally been removed for Newcastle and the end of Mike Ashley could be on the horizon.

After several failed promises, however, Magpies supporters might be wise to sit tight for now.

What have Newcastle fans said about the potential takeover?

It’s fair to say that they’re ecstatic. Getting shut of Ashley has been the objective for many years and his lousy tenure could be coming to a close.

Some are remaining cautious; although, the bottles of Newcastle Brown Ale are on ice and the party poppers are ready to go.

This could be a monumental day for the football club and it could be a nail-biting time for boss Steve Bruce.

Following this afternoon’s updates, we looked at what supporters were saying about the potential takeover.
