Some Newcastle United fans have been reacting to a report that has claimed Martin Dubravka will be recalled by Steve Bruce this weekend.
According to The Telegraph, the Magpies boss will turn to the 32-year-old after sticking with Karl Darlow since the Slovakian’s return from injury.

Dubravka made his comeback against Arsenal in the FA Cup, but has been unable to add to that one appearance, with Bruce showing loyalty to Darlow.
The former Nottingham Forest star began the season in magnificent form but has faced calls to be dropped in recent weeks, especially with Dubravka sitting on the bench.
Dubravka being on the bench has not sat right with many Newcastle fans, with the former Sparta Prague man having proven to be a fantastic signing over the past couple of years.

The consensus has been that, while Darlow is fantastic at stopping shots, he lacks the ability to dominate his area and communicate with his backline.
Some feel Dubravka has greater presence and has more conviction when the ball is in the air.
The Telegraph’s report about Dubravka has delighted some Magpies supporters, many of whom have been clamouring for Bruce to make the decision for weeks

Darlow has done very well stepping in but at the end of the day you have to play your best players and Dubravka has arguably been ours for the last few years, has to be back in and it will actually be a big boost to see him on the team sheet

Correct decision in my humble opinion.

Big advocate of Karl Darlow but I agree this is the right move. However no keeper is error free so Martin will need to be on his A game.

As harsh as that call is, I think it’s needed. A fresh injection of our motivated No1 keeper to add confidence to the defence.
